A maximum-strength prescription acne treatment built with four actives: adapalene to clear clogged pores, benzoyl peroxide to reduce the bacteria behind deep breakouts without antibiotic resistance, clindamycin phosphate to calm what's already red and swollen, and niacinamide to keep your skin comfortable while they work.
Built for the acne that's outlasted over-the-counter routines and first-line prescriptions. It's a real prescription, designed for your skin and delivered to your door.
Treats the following acne concerns:
Active ingredients:
Exact concentrations are determined by your dermatology provider based on your assessment, your tolerance, and your skin's history.
As with any maximum-strength prescription, some people notice mild, temporary effects as their skin adjusts to treatment. These are typically short-lived and manageable with simple care steps.
Common adjustment effects can include dryness, peeling, or a temporary increase in breakouts as clogged material works its way to the surface. Applying a moisturizer helps soothe irritation, and most people find their skin settles within the first 2 to 4 weeks. A board-certified dermatologist on our clinical team reviews your case and sets a formulation appropriate for your skin.
After cleansing, apply one pump to your fingertips and gently massage onto your face at night, or as directed by the board-certified dermatologist on your clinical team.
Follow with a gentle, hydrating moisturizer to keep your skin comfortable as it adjusts.
Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen, minimum SPF 30, every morning. Adapalene makes your skin more sensitive to sun, so daily protection isn’t optional.

The clinical team
The Advanced Acne SolutionRx wasn't formulated by an algorithm or pulled from a generic template. Its protocol was designed by Dr. Lindsey Zubritsky, Dr. Mamina Turegano, and Dr. Jenny Liu — three board-certified dermatologists with combined decades of clinical experience treating real patients. Your prescription is then written by a board-certified dermatologist on our clinical team, working from the protocol they built. Dermatologist-built medicine, delivered to your door.

What's in the bottle
The Advanced Acne SolutionRx pairs four actives — two prescription-strength, two supporting — designed to clear what hasn't cleared before, while keeping your barrier intact through the process.
Active Ingredients

THE CORRECTOR
A prescription-strength retinoid. Supports clogged-looking pores, helps with oiliness, and supports breakouts that may be forming under the surface — the ones you can't see yet.
THE TARGETED ANTIBIOTIC
A topical antibiotic that calms the bacteria driving active, inflamed breakouts. Works on what's already on your face, while adapalene works on what's coming.
THE BACTERIA KILLER
A common topical used in acne-prone routines where C. acnes bacteria may contribute to inflamed or deep breakouts. Works without antibiotic resistance, even after months of consistent use.
THE BUFFER
A form of vitamin B3 that reduces redness, supports your skin barrier, and makes prescription actives more tolerable. The reason most people quit retinoids is irritation. This is the reason you won't.Supporting Ingredients

THE CALMER
A clinically studied botanical that soothes irritation and supports recovery. Used in dermatology for decades. The quiet ingredient that keeps the loud ones comfortable.
THE BARRIER REPAIR
Lipids that reinforce the skin barrier and lock in moisture. With maximum-strength actives, barrier health is the limiting factor in how long you can stay on treatment. Ceramides protect the foundation.Exact concentrations are determined by your dermatology provider based on your assessment, your tolerance, and your skin's history. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved.
What to expect

The Advanced Acne SolutionRx works while you sleep. Prescription-strength adapalene supports clogged pores at depth and helps keep new breakouts from forming under the surface. Benzoyl peroxide supports acne-prone skin where C. acnes bacteria may contribute to inflamed or deep breakouts — and works without antibiotic resistance even after months of consistent use. Clindamycin phosphate supports inflamed-looking breakouts on the surface. Niacinamide keeps your barrier comfortable while the actives do their work.

The Advanced Acne SolutionRx is our maximum-strength prescription acne treatment. That means it's formulated for the breakouts that have outlasted over-the-counter routines, first-line prescriptions, and most of what's on your shelf — and it's calibrated by a board-certified dermatologist on your care team so it's strong enough to do the work without wrecking your barrier.
Dealing with stubborn acne-prone skin — including deep or recurring breakouts that come back even after months of consistent care
Already been on a first-line acne prescription or antibiotic and stopped seeing results
Watching post-acne marks pile up faster than they fade
Considering Accutane but not ready for that step, and want to exhaust the topical route first
Familiar with prescription retinoids and able to tolerate a higher-strength formulation, as confirmed during your assessment
New to prescription retinoids — The Acne SolutionRx (Core) is the better starting point and steps up cleanly if needed
Pregnant, nursing, or trying to conceive — adapalene and several other actives in this formula aren't appropriate; your assessment will route you to a safer option
Primarily concerned about fine lines or signs of aging — The Acne Solution is built for that
Mostly dealing with persistent redness or rosacea flushing — The Redness Control Formula is built for that
Already on isotretinoin (Accutane), or finished a course within the past 6 months — we'll need to space your treatment appropriately
I had deep recurring breakouts for over a decade. I had been to three different dermatologists with no long-term success. DermClick's advanced formula finally gave me the results I had been chasing.
Rachel B.
After two rounds of other prescriptions that stopped working, this was the only thing that actually cleared my skin. I wish I had found it sooner.
Marcus T.
My acne was affecting my work and my relationships. Within two months on this formula, my skin was the clearest it had been since high school.
Danielle W.
Realistic timeline
Maximum-strength acne treatment isn't a one-week fix — and the stubborn breakouts you've been chasing took longer than a week to take hold. Real results take time. They also hold.
Here's what most people experience.
Results vary. Timelines depend on your starting skin, your formula strength, and how consistently you apply your treatment.

Your case is reviewed within one business day, and your prescription is written by a board-certified dermatologist on our clinical team.

Your formula is compounded by a licensed pharmacy and shipped to your door — usually within a week. Your DermClick care team stays with you, adjusting your formula as your skin responds.

The Acne Solutionᴿˣ is our Core-tier acne treatment, built for mild to moderate breakouts and for people who haven't been on a prescription retinoid before. The Advanced Acne Solutionᴿˣis the maximum-strength tier — it keeps the prescription retinoid (adapalene) from the Core formula and adds benzoyl peroxide, formulated for stubborn acne-prone skin with deep or recurring breakouts that haven't responded to over-the-counter or first-line prescription care. If you're not sure, take the assessment. A board-certified dermatologist on your care team will tell you which one matches where your skin actually is — not where you think it should be.
Possibly, and at Advanced tier it can be more pronounced than with Core. Adapalene accelerates cell turnover, which can push clogged material to the surface before it clears. Benzoyl peroxide adds antibacterial activity that can also temporarily intensify what's coming to the surface. This isn't the prescription making things worse — it's the prescription doing its job. Most people get through the first 2 to 4 weeks and come out the other side with clearer skin than they've had in years. The niacinamide and Centella asiatica in the formula are included specifically to keep this phase manageable. If it gets uncomfortable, message us and we'll adjust your ramp-up.
Most of your routine can stay. Gentle cleansers, fragrance-free moisturizers, and broad-spectrum SPF all pair well with The Advanced Acne Solutionᴿˣ. What you need to pause: other topical retinoids (additional adapalene, tretinoin, tazarotene, retinol), high-concentration acids (salicylic, glycolic, lactic), and any other benzoyl peroxide products — doubling up increases irritation without improving results. A board-certified dermatologist on your care team will review your current products during your assessment and tell you exactly what to keep, drop, and add.
The assessment specifically asks. Tretinoin and several other actives in this formula aren't appropriate during pregnancy or nursing. If any of these apply to you, a board-certified dermatologist on your care team will route you to a safer alternative. If we can't safely prescribe for you, we'll tell you before charging you. We don't write prescriptions that shouldn't be written.
Most people start noticing a real shift between weeks 4 and 8 with consistent nightly use. Weeks 1–2 are the adjustment period — expect some dryness and possibly a temporary increase in breakouts as clogged pores surface. Weeks 3–6, deep flares may come less often and visible irritation may look calmer. Weeks 6–12, fewer new breakouts, smaller-looking pores, and post-acne marks begin to fade. The breakouts you've been chasing for years don't disappear in a week — but the right prescription can still help support clearer-looking skin.
It's designed for moderate to severe acne-prone skin — specifically the kind that's already been through OTC actives, first-line prescriptions, and antibiotics without getting lasting results. It's formulated for skin that's familiar with prescription retinoids and ready for a higher-strength combination. It's not the right starting point for someone new to prescription treatment — The Acne Solutionᴿˣ (Core) is built for that, and steps up cleanly to this formula if needed.
Full prescribing details, including side effects, drug interactions, and who shouldn't use this treatment, are available on our Important Safety Information page. We recommend reading it before starting treatment.
The Advanced Acne SolutionRx is our maximum-strength prescription formula for stubborn acne-prone skin with deep or recurring breakouts. If your skin needs something gentler — or you're new to prescription retinoids — there's a tier built for that. Your assessment routes you to the one that fits.
